Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Belsize Park in respect of our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to identify, prevent, and address modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in every aspect of our business and to ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our activities or relationships.
Man with Van Belsize Park operates in the transport and removals sector, working with a range of suppliers and subcontractors including vehicle providers, equipment suppliers, and labour-only partners. We understand that the nature of supply chains in this sector can present risks related to labour exploitation, recruitment practices, and subcontracted work, and we take these risks seriously.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We have a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and exploitation. This applies to our own operations and to every organisation and individual with whom we work. We will not knowingly engage with any supplier or contractor that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery in its business or supply chains.
Our zero-tolerance stance is communicated to all staff, management, and suppliers at the outset of our relationship and reinforced through ongoing engagement. Any breach of this policy will be treated as a serious matter and may lead to termination of contracts and referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold high standards of labour and human rights. We require that they comply with applicable employment, health and safety, and human rights legislation, and that they prohibit the use of forced, bonded, or child labour.
To support this, we conduct proportionate checks and audits of our key suppliers, focusing on those where the risk of labour exploitation may be higher, such as providers of temporary labour or subcontracted driving and handling services. These audits may include reviews of employment records, right-to-work documentation, working hours, and wage practices. Where risk indicators are identified, we engage with suppliers to seek improvements, and if these are not forthcoming, we may suspend or end the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone connected with our business, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and members of the public, to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Reports may relate to suspected exploitation, unsafe working conditions, coercive recruitment practices, or any behaviour inconsistent with our values.
Concerns can be raised directly with management or through established internal reporting channels. Reports will be treated seriously and, where possible, confidentially. We will investigate all credible allegations and take appropriate action, which may include engaging with the affected individual, working with the supplier to remedy issues, or notifying competent authorities. We do not tolerate victimisation of anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Training and Awareness
We aim to improve awareness of modern slavery risks across our workforce. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, are provided with guidance on identifying potential indicators of modern slavery and human trafficking. We encourage a culture where employees remain alert to risks and feel responsible for speaking up when something appears wrong.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for our modern slavery commitments rests with senior management, who oversee the implementation of this statement and associated procedures. We monitor our risk profile, supplier performance, and any reported incidents to ensure that our approach remains effective and proportionate to our operations.
This statement is reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, and the nature of our business and supply chains. As part of this review, we consider feedback from staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders and identify opportunities for continual improvement. Updated versions of this statement will supersede previous iterations and guide our ongoing efforts to combat modern slavery.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Belsize Park and represents our commitment to ongoing vigilance and ethical conduct in all that we do.
